My name is Alessa Rhode – I am a funeral director, death doula, education designer, a graduate in peace studies, and a systemic counselor in training, based in Berlin.
I accompany people in dealing with death, in integrating grief and loss, and in navigating major life questions, transitions, and turning points. Together we create authentic rituals and find spaces for farewell, remembrance, and new orientation.
As a queer person, it is particularly important to me to shape my work in a way that is as free from discrimination as possible, attentive, and sensitive to different life realities. Empathy, openness, and individual needs are at the center of my work.
I work in Berlin, and upon request also in other locations or digitally.

As an funeral director and death doula, I support people in engaging with death in a self-determined way and in attending to the final matters of life.

In dealing with losses, transitions, and farewells, I support both individuals and organizations.
Ritual Design
I support the creation of rituals — to let go of something, to welcome something new, or to affirm something.
Systemic Counseling
With empathy, I accompany people in developing new perspectives and expanding their possibilities for action.
Educational work
I create creative learning spaces where people can explore the richness of life and reflect on death together.
